2010 Agronomy, Crops, Soils, and Environmental Sciences Compensation Survey Released

 

With over 2000 participants thus far, ASA, CSSA, SSSA, and the ASA CCA and CPAg, and SSSA CPSS/C certification programs are proud to announce the availability of the Agronomy, Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences Compensation Survey Report.  

For the first time, detailed compensation information is now available on a wide range of positions within our professions – valuable information for hiring employees, evaluating compensation strategies, and negotiating (for both individuals and employers). 

Here are just a few compensation averages (base + incentives/bonus) for a:

  • $67,457 – Agronomist in Canada (55% have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree)
  • $69,921 – Soil Scientist in the US (7% of which have been unemployed in the past 12 months)
  • $89,408 – Research Scientist in US (they have an average of 11.5 years of experience)
  • $81,992 – Associate Professor in the US (81% of which are male)
  • $108,429 - Average base salary only for a Professor in the US (90% have supervisory responsibilities)
