A05 Environmental Quality

Who we are

Agriculture covers roughly 30% of the earth and is inextricably linked to the quality of our environment. Understanding how agriculture affects our environment and improving the management of agriculture to promote air, soil and water quality is the central focus of the A05 division.

Grassroots leadership

The A05 division is committed to representing its members to ensure that emerging issues of agronomy and the environment are effectively communicated and that division activities reflect member interest. If you would like to highlight a topic of importance on this web page or play a role in division activities please contact the division chair.

ASA is also committed to providing greater representation to its members and has proposed an ambitious restructuring of the society. The proposed plan (found here) will enable communities of motivated, like-minded members to be formally recognized by the society. These communities will be able to take advantage of many of the opportunities and resources currently directed to individual divisions.
