Building Core Constituencies with Core Constituent Scientist Teams
The Science Policy Office has been working since 2000 with constituent scientists to build support and funding in Congress and the Administration for the agronomic, crop and soil sciences. Now, ASA, CSSA, and SSSA Congressional Visits Day (CVD) alumni, are helping to lead renewed efforts by the Societies to build support for the agronomic, crop and soil sciences in federal agencies including: National Science Foundation (NSF), USDA Agricultural Research Service (USDA ARS), USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), Department of Energy Office of Science (DOE OS), Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (DOE EERE), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), among others.
