ASA Hosts Annual Meeting

Researchers, educators, administrators, and extension professionals in agronomy and environmental sciences from around the world gathered at the Long Beach Convention Center to present research and discuss emerging trends in agronomy, plant breeding, education, and other agronomic science topics.

Other major events at the meeting included a presentation by Pulitzer Prize recipient Thomas L. Friedman, on why we need a green revolution and how it can renew America; Carl Casale, Executive Vice President and CFO of Monsanto Company, and Jared Diamond, UCLA, author of Collapse: How Societies Chose to Fail or Succeed, on what we can learn from previous environmental problems and their impacts.
