Agronomic Industry Award

 

The Agronomic Industry Award recognizes outstanding performance by a private sector agronomist in the development, acceptance, and implementation of advanced agronomic programs, practices, and/or products. The focus will be on agronomic service with associated educational, public relations, and administrative contributions of industrial agronomists and others. The award consists of a certificate, a complimentary ticket to the award ceremony, and $2,000.

Evaluation:

  1. Personal relations, professionalism, integrity, and credibility will be highly valued.
  2. The emphasis will be on the individual's support of ASA goals.
  3. Personal growth in a particular field of endeavor; impact on associates, farmers, and the public at large.
  4. The nominee's influence on company programs and directions or on development of products or varieties.
  5. The individual's performance on assignments, rather than the variety or scope of assignments, will be the major consideration.
  6. Qualities such as innovativeness and good citizenship as evidenced by community service will be taken into consideration.

  2. Members of this ASA Awards Committee and the ASA Board of Directors are not eligible to be a nominator for this award.

Nominee

  1. Members of this ASA Awards Committee and the ASA Board of Directors are not eligible to be a nominee for this award.
  2. Nominees are not required to be members of ASA.
  3. Nominees will be within the private sector and will not be employed by any public agency, including government, colleges. and universities.
  4. Nominees must be living at the time of their nomination.
  5. Teams are eligible if the following qualifications are met: 1. At least one member of the team is an agronomist. 2. Where other disciplines are represented, the agronomist will be a major contributor (50% or more) to the team effort. 3. Only publications where all team members are authors or honors and awards received by the team will be listed. Individual efforts should be omitted.
  6. Former recipients of this Award are not eligible.
