2021 Annual Meeting
January 30-February 1 | Virtual
The 2021 Annual Meeting of the Southern Branch of the American Society of Agronomy was held virtually on Saturday, January 30 - Monday, February 1.
A social gathering was held via Zoom on Saturday with attendees mingling through breakout rooms. Poster presentations were pre-recorded and shared online prior to the meeting. There were no live presentations for poster. Oral presentations were held live via Zoom on Sunday (students) and Monday (professional). The business meeting and awards presentation ended the meeting on Monday.

2011 Annual Meeting
February 6-8 | Corpus Christi, TX
The Southern Branch - American Society of Agronomy met in Corpus Christi, TX with other southern Region societies as a component of the Southern Association of Agricultural Scientists (SAAS). This meeting was designed to allow for collaboration and networking among Agronomy Professionals and students in the Southern Region. It was an excellent location for graduate students to present their research findings and talk with professionals in their area of research/interest. It also allowed for discussions of projects across the spectrum of Agriculture as represented byt the other Southern Regional Professional Groups.
The program featured 27 posters - including 14 in the graduate student and 8 in the undergraduate student poster competitions, a graduate student competition with 17 oral presentations , and 18 professional oral presentations. The poster session was held on Sunday afternoon with a reception and Super Bowl party for all attending the SAAS meeting. Monday featured the graduate student oral competition and soils professional presentations, and the ASA Southern Branch Business Meeting. Tuesday featured the crops professional papers.

2010 Southern Branch Annual Meeting
February 7-8 | Orlando, FL
The Southern Branch of the American Society of Agronomy met February 7-8, 2010 in conjunction with other southern Region societies as a component of the Southern Association of Agricultural Scientists (SAAS). The meeting was held at the Wyndham Orlando. It offered participants a unique opportunity to interact with many others with similar interests in southern agricultural production to connect and covers crops from peanuts to pastures and cotton to rice.
Wayne Ebelhar of Mississippi State University served as President, Becky Gilfillen of Western Kentucky University served as Vice President & Program Chair, Nathan Slaton of the University of Arkansas served as Past President, and Dennis Osborne, North Carolina State University served as Treasurer.
We were pleased to offer both graduate and undergraduate competitions this year - with the undergraduate competition in a several year pilot.
Highlights include:
- 38 posters presented on Sunday, including the graduate and undergraduate student poster competitions,
- 12 Graduate Student Oral competition presentations on Monday morning,
- 10 Professional oral presentations, Southern Branch business meeting and Awards Presentations on Monday afternoon
